The Meeting of Civil Society examined perceptions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Latin America and the Caribbean and the related roles of the media, academic institutions, think tanks, political parties, trade unions and foundations. It also focused on bringing civil society together to advance the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, including through reaching decision-makers, pursuing common goals and isolating extremists, and involving communities in the region, including Arab and Jewish.

En la Reunión para la sociedad civil, se examinarán las percepciones del conflicto israelo-palestino en América Latina y el Caribe y las funciones que corresponden a los medios, las instituciones académicas, los grupos de estudios, los partidos políticos, los sindicatos y las fundaciones. La Reunión también tendrá como objetivo reunir a la sociedad civil para avanzar en el proceso de paz entre Israel y Palestina, entre otras cosas mediante el contacto con las autoridades, la búsqueda de metas comunes y el aislamiento de los extremistas, así como mediante la participación de las comunidades de la región, incluidas la árabe y la judía.
