The Meeting of Civil Society examined perceptions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Latin America and the Caribbean and the related roles of the media, academic institutions, think tanks, political parties, trade unions and foundations. It also focused on bringing civil society together to advance the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, including through reaching decision-makers, pursuing common goals and isolating extremists, and involving communities in the region, including Arab and Jewish.

En la Reuni¨®n para la sociedad civil, se examinar¨¢n las percepciones del conflicto israelo-palestino en Am¨¦rica Latina y el Caribe y las funciones que corresponden a los medios, las instituciones acad¨¦micas, los grupos de estudios, los partidos pol¨ªticos, los sindicatos y las fundaciones. La Reuni¨®n tambi¨¦n tendr¨¢ como objetivo reunir a la sociedad civil para avanzar en el proceso de paz entre Israel y Palestina, entre otras cosas mediante el contacto con las autoridades, la b¨²squeda de metas comunes y el aislamiento de los extremistas, as¨ª como mediante la participaci¨®n de las comunidades de la regi¨®n, incluidas la ¨¢rabe y la jud¨ªa.
