The purpose of the Seminar was to review the progress of the Palestinian Authority¡¯s state-building programme and garner further support for it. Seminar participants, including representatives of governments, intergovernmental organizations, United Nations system entities, and civil society, listened to expert assessments of the achievements and challenges of that programme, discussed approaches towards the creation of a sustainable Palestinian economy, and considered ways of overcoming political obstacles. The Seminar contributed to the international discourse on how to best support the socio-economic underpinnings of a two-State solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
