The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), His Excellency Dr Yousef Al-Othaimeen, on Sunday 28 May 2017 in his office received the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA), Mr Pierre Kr\u00e4henb\u00fchl. They explored mechanisms for cooperation to garner budget support for the agency to continue delivering aid to the Palestinian refugees.<\/p>\n

The Secretary General emphasized that the OIC is fully committed to assisting and supporting the agency in its vital mission, commending Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA\u2019s activity aimed at keeping alive the Palestinian cause until it is resolved within international legitimacy.<\/p>\n

Further, the two parties discussed preparations for an international high-level meeting to be held alongside the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly\u2019s annual session, the aim being to tailor the Member States\u2019 response to meet the agency\u2019s needs and contribute necessary budget support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
