\t<\/span>On instructions from my Government and further to our earlier letters concerning Israel's attacks on southern Lebanon and the Western Bekaa and the arbitrary practices against the civilian inhabitants in which it engages on a daily basis, I have the honour to notify you of the series of such incidents that took place in March 1999.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

1 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Israeli occupation forces prevented a helicopter belonging to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵIFIL) from making a flight in the South.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Israeli occupation forces and their militia continued to keep the Hamra-Bayt Yahun crossing closed, prevented a Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵIFIL unit from crossing through it to Naqurah and maintained a nab on movements by Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵIFIL personnel in the Force's area of operation.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0940 and 1235 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the Shuf, the Western Bekaa and the South at various altitudes breaking the sound barrier.  Between 1230 and 1640 hours Israeli warplanes intermittently overflew the South and Mount Lebanon dropping heat balloons.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Without giving reasons, the Israeli occupation forces' militia closed the Zimriya crossing to passage in both directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1110 and 1455 hours the collaborators' militia bombarded outlying areas of Majdal Zun and Zibqin with five direct-fire projectiles from its position at Shihin.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 2020 and 2140 hours Israeli occupation forces and the client militia fired 155-mm artillery shells and 60-mm mortar shells and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at the Jabal al-Rafi` area and outlying areas of Kafr Rumman.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

2 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0200 and 0600 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Zibqin and areas around Qal`at al-Shaqif (Château de Beaufort) from their positions at Tal Ya`qub and at the castle itself.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0550 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri directed bursts of fire towards the open sea.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0459 and 1100 hours Israeli warplanes intermittently overflew the South and the Shuf at various altitudes.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1000 hours an Israeli gunboat off Tyre opened fire on a fishing boat causing serious damage.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1005 and 1025 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the Western Bekaa, Batrun and Kasrawan districts, as well as the Dhawq Electricity Company, at various altitudes.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1015 and 1230 hours an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft overflew the Tyre and Sidon East areas at high altitude.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1830 hours Israeli occupation forces shelled Yatar, and three shells fell near the spring.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

3 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0505 hours Israeli occupation forces fired five 120-mm mortar shells at the Dallafah spring from their position on Ahmadiyah hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1210 and 1420 hours Israeli occupation forces fired three 155-mm mortar shells at a point to the south of height 910 (north of Ahmadiyah hill) from their position at Shurayfah.  They also fired three 81-mm mortar shells at Jabal Jabbur from their position at Kafr Hunah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1420 hours Israeli occupation forces and the client militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar shells at areas along the Tasah spring and parts of Jabal Sujud and Mlita hill from their positions at Rayhan and Shurayfah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1625 and 1735 hours Israeli forces and the collaborators' militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 81-mm and 120-mm mortar shells at Jabal Sujud, Mazra`at Uqmata, Wadi Habbush, Jabal al-Rafi` and the area around Tahrah hill from their positions at Rayhan, Zafatah and Suwayda hill.  The client militia also directed medium-weapons fire in all directions around its position on Rum hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1950 and 2045 hours Israeli occupation forces and the client Lahad militia shot several direct-fire projectiles at outlying areas of Majdal Zun from their positions at Shama` and Jabal Balat.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

4 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0000 and 0230 hours Israeli occupation forces and the client militia fired several 81-mm mortar shells at areas around Dabshah and Rum hills and at Ahmadiyah hill from their positions on the two former hills and from inside the occupied strip.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0630 hours the Lahad client militia fired several 120-mm mortar shells and directed a number of bursts of medium-weapons fire at Ayta al-Jabal and Rshaf from its positions at Ruwaysat al-Jamus and Bayt Yahun.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1145 hours five artillery shells fired from Israeli occupation positions at Jabal Hamid fell in the area between Sribbin and Kafra while Israeli warplanes overflew the area.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1210 and 1400 hours the client Lahad militia fired several 120-mm mortar shells and directed several bursts of medium-weapons fire at outlying areas of Rshaf and Dibil from its positions at Ali al-Tahir hill and Shal`abun.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Between 1930 and 2230 hours the Lahad militia fired two 155-mm artillery shells and four direct-fire projectiles at outlying areas of Majdal Zun and Zibqin and at Jabal al-Rafi` from its positions at Zafatah and Shihin.<\/p><\/div>\n

5 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>After 2220 hours on the night of 3\/4 March 1999 the client militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at Mlita hill and Mazra`at Uqmata from its positions at Zafatah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0530 and 0600 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1110 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Khallat al-Sayyid Ali locality between Jibal al-Butm and Zibqin, firing an air-to-surface missile.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1000 hours the Lahad militia directed several bursts of medium-weapons fire at Wadi Nahr al-Fatir from its positions on Ahmadiyah hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1100 and 1145 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the Tyre and Tibnin areas at various altitudes.  At 1105 and 1135 hours they attacked the Kassarat area between Zibqin and Jibal al-Butm, firing two air-to-surface missiles.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1730 and 1750 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 81-mm and 120-mm mortar shells and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at the area around Sujud hill, Mazra`at Uqmata, Mlita hill, the Luwayzah vicinity, Mlikh, Mazra`at al-Hamra and areas along the Litani River towards Zawtar al-Sharqiyah from their positions at Shurayfah, Zafatah, Ksarat al-Urush, Sala`ah, Qasr and Ghazlan hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 2130 and 2145 hours the client Lahad militia fired eight 130-mm artillery shells at the Maydun hills and Jabal Abu Rashid from its position at Ayn Qinya.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2305 hours occupying Israeli forces fired five 155-mm artillery shells at Jabal Jabbur, to the west of Maydun, from Shurayfah hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

6 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0605 hours the Lahad militia fired two 81-mm mortar shells at areas around its position on Tahrah hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0845 hours Israeli forces and their militia bombarded outlying areas of Jibal al-Butm with three 155-mm shells from their position at Hardun.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1025 and 1045 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Izziyah and Zibqin from their position at Rajmin.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1050 hours the client Lahad militia fired several 81-mm mortar shells and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at areas along the Litani River, the Qasr Ghandur vicinity and areas around their positions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1245 hours several artillery shells fired from Israeli occupation forces and Lahad militia positions at Hardun fell in the outskirts of Shu`aytiyah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1830 and 2055 hours occupying Israeli forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Jba`, Mazra`at Uqmata and Jabal Jabbur from their position at Shurayfah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1930 hours the client Lahad militia fired several 81-mm mortar shells and directed several bursts of medium-weapons fire at areas along the Litani River to the south of Zawtar al-Gharbiyah from its positions at Sala`ah and Qusayr.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

7 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0100 and 0130 hours occupying Israeli forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells and three 120-mm mortar shells at Wadi al-Qaysiyah (to the west of Majdal Silm and Jabal Basil).<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0910 and 1200 hours Israeli warplanes overflew all parts of the country at various altitudes, breaking the sound barrier.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1025 and 1145 hours occupying Israeli forces and the client militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar shells at Mazra`at Uqmata, Jabal al-Rafi` and areas around Sujud hill from their positions at Shurayfah, Zafatah and Aramta.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1600 and 1630 hours Israeli occupation forces and the client militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 160-mm mortar shells at outlying areas of Haddatha from their positions at Tall Ya`qub and the Darr al-Jabal checkpoint (south of Ramiya).<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 2100 and 2145 hours the Lahad militia fired several 120-mm mortar shells at areas along the Zahrani River towards Habbush and at Ayn al-Mir from their positions at Tahrah hill and Dahr al-Ramlah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

8 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0725 hours Israeli forces fired four 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Majdal Silm from their position at Tall Ya`qub.  They also fired nine 155-mm artillery shells at Wadi al-Qaysiyah (west of Majdal Silm) from their position at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0920 and 0940 hours several 120-mm mortar shells and two 155-mm artillery shells fired from the occupied strip fell on Jabal al-Rafi` and Sujud hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1030 hours the client Lahad militia expelled Chief Warrant Officer Zayd Yusuf al-Shuwayri, commander of the Internal Security Forces Hasbayya post, to the liberated territories.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1230 hours a patrol of the client militia's security service proceeded to enter the public security post in Hasbayya and took Lieutenant Amin Saliqa under escort to its own post at Zaghlah, Hasbayya.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1740 hours Israeli forces fired 12 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin and Izziyah from their position at Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1800 hours the Kassarat area between Zibqin and Hinniyah came under artillery fire from Israeli occupation and Lahad positions in Hardun.  The shelling affected parts of Wadi al-Sama`iyah, Malikiyah and the Shu`aytiyah road, 500 metres from the checkpoint maintained by the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵIFIL Fijian contingent.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1805 and 1920 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South and the Batrun area and dropped an unidentified object in the Jabal al-Ahmar area between Zibqin and Shukin.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2105 hours Israeli occupation forces fired five 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Zibqin and Majdal Zun from their position at the Bustan checkpoint.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

9 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0510 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0935 and 1200 hours Israeli warplanes overflew all parts of the country breaking the sound barrier.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1720 and 1830 hours the client Lahad militia fired several 120-mm mortar shells at areas around Tumat Niha from its position at Ayn al-Tafrah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1955 and 2000 hours the Lahad militia strafed the area around its position at Bayt Yahun with medium-weapons fire.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

10 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0600 and 0615 hours Israel's client Lahad militia at Bra`shit hill and Bayt Yahun and Israeli forces at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint and Tall Ya`qub fired nine 155-mm artillery shells and 11 81-mm mortar shells and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at outlying areas of Bra`shit, Safad al-Battikh, Tibnin and Yatar.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0645 hours Jba` came under artillery fire from Israeli occupation forces positions in the occupied strip.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0855 hours a patrol of the Lahad client militia entered Kawkaba and its personnel opened fire inside the town.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1300 hours the Jabal al-Dahr heights and the Mimis sector came under fire from the artillery and tanks of the Israeli enemy positioned at Zimriya and Ayn Qinya and occupation forces strafed areas along the Litani River and Jabal Qilya with weapons of various types from Ahmadiyah hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Without giving reasons, the Lahad militia closed the Bayt Yahun crossing to passage by vehicles and pedestrians in both directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1245 and 1500 hours enemy warplanes overflew the South, breaking the sound barrier in the Sidon area.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>At 1430 hours the Lahad militia fired three 120-mm mortar shells at outlying areas of Haddatha from its position at Rshaf.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1605 hours Israeli occupation forces fired five 120-mm mortar shells at an area to the west of Jabal Abu Rashid.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>Between 2010 and 2025 hours the Lahad militia fired several 120-mm mortar shells and direct-fire projectiles at Mazra`at Uqmata, areas along the Tasah spring and areas around their positions at Rayhan, Aramta and Sujud.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

11 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0310 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 120-mm mortar shells and directed several bursts of fire at areas along the Tasah spring and the area around Sujud hill from their positions at Ksarat al-Urush and on Sujud hill itself.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0330 and 0500 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0630 and 0640 hours the Abbas intersection area and areas along the Tasah spring were hit by several 120-mm mortar shells fired from Israeli occupation positions in Rayhan.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1010 hours Israeli intelligence personnel arrested Khalil Ibrahim Yunus from Shihin.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1735 and 1740 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar shells at outlying areas of Jba` and Jibal al-Butm from their positions at Shurayfah and Zafatah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1900 and 1930 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Majdal Silm, Shaqra and Wadi al-Qaysiyah from their position at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint.  Israeli helicopters also made frequent overflights of the area.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2230 hours Israeli occupation forces fired five 155-mm artillery shells at Jabal Ayn al-Tinah from their position at Abu Qamhah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

12 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0230 hours Israeli occupation forces fired 14 130-mm and 155-mm shells at Jabal Bir al-Dahr and Ayn al-Tinah from their positions at Abu Qamhah and Suwayda hill.  The shelling resumed at 1115 hours and two shells fell on Jabal Bir al-Dahr.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1145 hours the outskirts of Majdal Zun came under Israeli 155-mm artillery fire from positions on Hardun hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

13 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0530 hours occupying Israeli forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at Wadi al-Kufur.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0535 and 0640 hours Israeli occupation forces and their client militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at Jabal Abu Rashid, Rayat hill, Jabal Bir al-Dahr, Maydun, Jabal al-Rafi` and Jabal Abra (east of Ayn al-Tinah) from their positions at Marahat al-Bashiq, Ibl al-Saqi, Abu Qamhah and Zafatah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0600 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Lahad militia proceeded to place earthen berms alongside the Rum checkpoint and partitioned the town into two sections with 90 per cent of it inside the occupied security zone and 10 per cent outside.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1125 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Izziyah, Mansuri, Majdal Zun, Zibqin and Jibal al-Butm from their positions at Tall Ya`qub and the Bustan checkpoint.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1455 hours the Iqlim al-Tuffah heights, areas along the Zahrani River and Jabal al-Rafi` came under Israeli artillery fire from occupation positions inside the strip.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1645 and 1830 hours the client Lahad militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar shells at outlying areas of Jba`, Ayn Qana, Sujud and Jabal al-Rafi` from its positions at Zafatah, Aramta and Rayhan.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>At 2045 hours Israeli forces fired three 155-mm shells at outlying areas of Shaqra from their position at the Mimis checkpoint.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

14 March 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0500 and 0640 hours Israeli occupation forces and the client Lahad militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 81-mm mortar shells and directed bursts of fire at Tibnin, Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin and Wadi al-Qaysiyah from their positions in the Bint Jubayl area.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0530 hours the Lahad militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and directed a number of bursts of fire at outlying areas of Luwayzah and areas along the Tasah spring from its positions at Sujud hill and Zafatah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0815 hours the Kassarat area between Zibqin and Hinniyah came under Israeli artillery fire from occupation positions in Tayr Harfa.  More than 20 shells were reported to have impacted.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1415 and 1540 hours Israeli occupation forces fired 16 155-mm artillery shells at Jabal Abu Rashid, Jabbur and Ayn al-Tinah from Ahmadiyah hill and Shurayfah hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Between 1735 and 2130 hours Israeli occupation forces and the client militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 81-mm and 120-mm mortar shells and directed a number of bursts of fire at outlying areas of Haddatha, Habbush, Arabsalim, Jabal al-Rafi`, areas along the Tasah spring and Uqmata from their positions at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint, Shurayfah, Zafatah, Shaqif al-Naml and Ksarat al-Urush and on Suwayda, Sujud, Razlan, Tahrah and Dabshah hills.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2015 hours an Israeli gunboat off Abu al-Aswad directed its searchlights at a number of fishing boats.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2015 hours an Israeli tank on station at the Tahrah position shot several direct-fire projectiles at Wadi al-Akhdar and outlying areas of Kafr Rumman.  The Iqlim al-Tuffah heights continued to come under intermittent artillery bombardment from the Israeli positions opposite.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2240 hours the Lahad militia on Suwayda hill shot a direct-fire projectile at Arabsalim that fell near the Irshad school.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2310 hours Israeli occupation forces and the client militia fired a concentrated barrage of artillery shells at Wadi al-Asi, between Jibal al-Butm and Zibqin.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 0825 hours the Lahad militia directed several bursts of medium-weapons fire at Wadi Habbush from its position on Suwayda hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Between 1130 and 1145 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at the area between Habbush and Kufur and at Jabal al-Rafi` from their position at Shurayfah.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Between 1250 and 1410 hours Israeli warplanes overflew areas of the Western Bekaa and strafed the Wadi Janham area and Jabal al-Khan.  Enemy helicopters then proceeded to fire at a Lebanese Army position, wounding four soldiers, while MK reconnaissance aircraft continued their overflights.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Between 1355 and 1505 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Haddatha from their positions at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint and Abu Qamhah.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Between 1515 and 1525 hours the Lahad militia fired five 120-mm and 81-mm mortar shells at outlying areas of Tiri and Bayt Yahun from its positions at Shal`abun hill and Saff al-Hawa', north-west of Bint Jubayl.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Between 1655 and 1735 hours Israeli occupation forces and the client militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Jibal al-Butm, Zibqin and Izziyah and several 120-mm mortar shells at outlying areas of Yahun from their positions at the Yarin checkpoint and Saff al-Hawa'.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1155 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Jibal al-Butm and Yatar from their positions at Tall Ya`qub and the Bustan checkpoint.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Between 1315 and 1355 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at outlying areas of Jibal al-Butm, Zawtar al-Gharbiyah, Zibqin, areas along the Litani River, Qabrikha, Yuhmur, Dayr Siryan and Zawtar al-Sharqiyah from their positions at Tall al-Ibad, Shurayfah and the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint and inside Israeli territory.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1350 and 1415 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the Tyre area.  At 1355 hours they attacked outlying areas of Jibal al-Butm, firing an air-to-surface missile, and the outskirts of Shu`aytiyah in the Tyre area.  At 1400 hours they attacked the area between Jibal al-Butm and Zibqin, firing four air-to-surface missiles, while the outskirts of Yatar, Zibqin and Jibal al-Butm came under heavy artillery fire from occupation forces in the occupied strip.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1430 hours the Iqlim al-Tuffah heights, Jabal al-Rafi`, Mlita, Luwayzah, Sujud and Ayshiyah came under 155-mm Israeli artillery fire from positions at Zafatah.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 1610 hours the Lahad militia shot a direct-fire projectile at an outlying area of Shaqra from its position at Hula.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1905 hours Israeli warplanes attacked outlying areas of Jibal al-Butm, firing an air-to-surface missile.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1900 and 2210 hours Israeli occupation forces and the client militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 60-mm mortar shells and directed bursts of fire at outlying areas of Zibqin and Yatar and at the areas around the Qusayr position and Dabshah hill from their position at Tall Ya`qub and from the Qusayr and Dabshah hill positions themselves.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Lebanese Government strongly condemns the continued Israeli occupation and the fresh attacks and arbitrary practices against the Lebanese civilian population that have left a number of wounded and caused further serious damage to property.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Like previous attacks, this new series is in flagrant violation of the sovereignty and independence of Lebanon and constitutes a breach of the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, of international law and of basic human rights.<\/p><\/div>\n
