3 March <\/i><\/span>– <\/i><\/span>After a 12-year-old girl was shot in the head while sitting at her desk in a United Nations school in the Palestinian territory, a top Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ relief official in the region has expressed dismay at the Israeli military's indiscriminate use of force in civilian areas. <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

Peter Hansen, Commissioner-General of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA), visited the girl and her family yesterday at the intensive care unit of Shifa Hospital in Gaza City where she is receiving treatment. <\/p><\/div>\n

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA said the girl was attending an Agency-run school when she was wounded by retaliatory fire from Israeli forces after an Israeli tank was fired upon near the Khan Younis refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
