Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ team visits occupied Palestinian territory to formulate humanitarian action plan<\/strong><\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

9 October <\/i><\/span>– <\/i><\/span>Aiming to respond to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, a United Nations technical assessment mission, comprised of experts from a range of fields, arrived in Jerusalem today. <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Members of the team, led by Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Assistant Emergency Relief Coordinator Ross Mountain, will spend the next 10 days in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza before producing a humanitarian plan of action for the occupied territories. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The mission will also follow up on <\/span>recommendations<\/a> made by the Secretary-General's Personal Humanitarian Envoy, Catherine Bertini, who visited the region in mid-August. <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The technical assessment mission includes senior staff from the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA), the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵSCO) and other key operational agencies. <\/p><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n
