Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Committee, South Africa convene meeting on Question of Palestine<\/strong> <\/p><\/div>\n

9 May 2007 – <\/i>In a bid to spur action on Middle East peace, a United Nations Committee is slated to open its African Meeting on the Question of Palestine today in Pretoria, with support from the South African Government. <\/p><\/div>\n

The two-day gathering sponsored by the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People will be followed on 11 May by the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Public Forum in Support of Israeli-Palestinian Peace, to be held at the University of Pretoria. <\/p><\/div>\n

Under the theme “African solidarity with the Palestinian people for the achievement of its inalienable rights,” the gathering aims to “encourage broad international action, including by African States, in support of achieving a viable Israeli-Palestinian peace,” the Committee said in a news release. <\/p><\/div>\n

Among those invited to participate are internationally renowned experts, including Israelis and Palestinians, diplomats, parliamentarians, representatives of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ system and other intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of civil society and the media.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
