The following is a near-verbatim transcript of today\u2019s noon briefing by St\u00e9phane Dujarric, Spokesman for the Secretary-General.<\/p>\n

Question<\/u>:\u00a0 Just a follow\u2011up on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA) from a few weeks ago.\u00a0 When the statement announcing the Commissioner\u2011General\u2019s resignation was put out, it made reference to preliminary findings of a report.\u00a0 Are there any plans for a final report to be released or issued, or what can you tell us?<\/p>\n

Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 At this point, it\u2019s somewhat ongoing, but what I can tell you is that the Secretary\u2011General wrote to Member States last week to inform them that, in its investigation into the allegations concerning Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA, the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) recently submitted four investigation reports.\u00a0 Those reports are currently under review, with a view to [taking] a possible managerial, administrative and\/or disciplinary action as appropriate.\u00a0 The Secretary\u2011General confirmed to Member States that the investigation reports do not find that there was any fraud involving donor funds.\u00a0 And he said he and the acting Commissioner\u2011General, Christian Saunders, are personally committed to ensuring Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA practises the highest standards of professionalism, transparency and efficiency.\u00a0 And Mr.\u00a0Saunders is taking immediate steps to implement a management plan to strengthen the administration of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA in general, particularly in the areas of oversight and accountability.<\/p>\n

Question<\/u>:\u00a0 Just a quick follow\u2011up.\u00a0 You said four reports.\u00a0 Are there any more reports to come?<\/p>\n

Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 That\u2019s what I have at this point.<\/p>\n

Question<\/u>:\u00a0 Any more to come?<\/p>\n

Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 I will share more information as I\u2026<\/p>\n

Question<\/u>:\u00a0 And any plans to release these publicly, or at least the findings?<\/p>\n

Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 They will go through the usual OIOS processes for these kinds of reports where, after a certain amount of time, they\u2019re available on request to Member States, which is the usual procedure.\u00a0 Yes, ma\u2019am?<\/p>\n

Question<\/u>:\u00a0 I don\u2019t understand whether this is the end of the OIOS investigation or whether there is still further investigation to be done.<\/p>\n
