The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the Israeli occupation authorities’ approval of the construction of 730 new settlement units in a colonial settlement established unjustly on the lands of the town of Beit Hanina, north of the occupied city of Al-Quds.<\/p>\n

The OIC considers this decision a continuation of Israel’s (the occupying power) flagrant violations under international law and the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy on the illegality of settlements, especially Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Security Council (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵSC) Resolution2334<\/a>\u00a0 of 2016, which reaffirmed that the establishment of such settlements “has no legal validity and constitutes a flagrant violation under international law and a major obstacle to the achievement of the two-State solution and a just, lasting and comprehensive peace.”<\/p>\n

The OIC called on the international community, especially the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵSC, to assume its responsibilities and compel Israel, the occupying power, to stop its colonial settlement policy and attacks through extremist settlers throughout the State of Palestine occupied since 1967, including the city of Al-Quds Ash-Sharif.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
