Last night, a building housing the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA headquarters in Gaza City sustained significant damage as a result of airstrikes nearby. All Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ\u00a0international staff present in Gaza are taking shelter in another building within the same compound.<\/p>\n

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA did not record any casualties among its staff during this incident, however two Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA staff members and five Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA students have been killed since 7 October.<\/p>\n

According to initial reports, offices and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA assets were damaged.\u00a0United Nations buildings and facilities must be protected at all times, including in times of conflict.<\/p>\n

Since October 7, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA recorded both collateral and direct damage to at least 18 of its facilities including schools sheltering displaced civilians.<\/p>\n

As of today, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ estimates that over 187,500 people have been displaced within Gaza, and more than 137,000 people are\u00a0sheltering in over 80 Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA schools across the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
