From Philippe Lazzarini, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA Commissioner-General as posted on his official X account (previously known as Twitter)<\/em><\/p>\n I am relieved about the release of hostages, including that of Ms. Damari and I hope all others will also soon return safely to their families.<\/p>\n Claims that hostages have been held in Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA premises are deeply disturbing and shocking. We take any such allegations extremely seriously.<\/p>\n We have repeatedly called for independent investigations into any credible claims of misuse and disregard of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ premises by Palestinian armed militants, including Hamas.<\/p>\n Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA was forced to vacate all its installations in the north of Gaza Strip, including Gaza City, on 13 October 2023 and has, since then, had no control over them.<\/p>\n The same happened whenever a military evacuation order was given during the last 15 months in other locations of the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA has not been involved in any negotiation related to hostage release as it is not within its mandate.<\/p>\n I repeat our call for the immediate release and safe return of all hostages.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" 01 February 2025 From Philippe Lazzarini, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA Commissioner-General as posted on his official X account (previously known as Twitter) I am relieved about the release of hostages, including that of Ms. Damari and I hope all others will also soon return safely to their families.
