AMMAN,\u00a0<\/span>2 March 2025<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013<\/span>\u00a0As the holy month of Ramadan begins, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA is launching its annual fundraising campaign that invites supporters around the world to use its Zakat Programme to share their blessings with Palestine Refugees. This vital lifeline transforms every individual contribution into emergency food and cash assistance, delivered with a strict 100 per cent distribution policy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201c<\/span>Ramadan inspires reflection, compassion, and giving. By donating during this holy month, donors will be providing critical, life-sustaining support to families in desperate need \u2013 particularly in Gaza, where the humanitarian needs are unprecedented,\u201d\u00a0said Tamara Alrifai, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA\u2019s Director of External Relations and Communications.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Throughout\u00a0<\/span>15 months of constant bombardment and forced displacement, the people of Gaza have faced severe shortages of food and essential supplies.\u00a0Since the ceasefire took effect on 19 January, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA teams have reached<\/span>\u00a0two million people with vital food assistance and hundreds of thousands of people with clean water. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA stands as the backbone of the emergency humanitarian response.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

For\u00a0<\/span>75 years, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA has stood by Palestine Refugees across the region through every Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA doctor\u2019s care, every teacher\u2019s lesson, and every food package distributed. In times of war, Palestine Refugee families across the region turn to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA \u2013 which has always been there for them \u2013 for food, water, tents, cash, emergency education and health services. In Gaza, humanitarian needs continue to escalate, and the entire population is reliant on aid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This Ramadan,\u00a0<\/span>Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵRWA aims to raise US$ 9 million in donations to ensure that its support reaches more people in need of food and cash assistance across the Gaza Strip, the West Bank including East Jerusalem, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. \u201cWhether donors are fulfilling their religious obligations through Zakat or Sadaqah, or donating for any other reason, every contribution counts. Our new donation website makes it easier for our supporters to calculate their Zakat obligation and contribute securely to Palestine Refugees,\u201d said Alrifai.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
