Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Security Council Authorizes Stabilization Force in Gaza<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Security Council on 17 November <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/security-council-meeting-coverage-17nov25\/\">endorsed<\/a> the United States-backed \u201cComprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict\u201d, welcomed its establishment of the Board of Peace and authorized the Board and Member States working with it to establish a temporary International Stabilization Force in Gaza. Adopting resolution <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/security-council-resolution-on-president-donald-j-trumps-comprehensive-plan-to-end-the-gaza-conflict-s-res-2803-2025\/\">S\/RES\/2803 (2025)<\/a> by a vote of 13 in favour to none against, with 2 abstentions (China, Russian Federation), the Council also authorized the Board and Member States participating therein to enter arrangements necessary to achieve the Comprehensive Plan\u2019s objectives. The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Secretary-General <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/sg-note-to-correspondents-17nov25\/\">stated<\/a> that the Security Council resolution on Gaza is an important step in the consolidation of the ceasefire.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the press following the adoption of the resolution, US Permanent Representative to the United Nations <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/mike-waltz-usa-remarks-security-council-17nov25\/\">said<\/a> that \u201ctoday marks a turning point\u2014not just for Gaza, not just for the Middle East, but for what international cooperation under President Trump\u2019s leadership can achieve when we choose diplomacy over destruction, when we choose stability over suffering, and peace over perpetual conflict. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Commemorates the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>On 25 November 2025, the international community, led by the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, gathered to commemorate the\u00a0International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. In his message on the occasion, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Secretary-General <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/sg-message-on-solidarityday-29nov25\/\">called<\/a> on listeners to \u201cdraw inspiration from the Palestinian people themselves, whose resilience and hope are a testament to the human spirit.\u201d In her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/pga-remarks-solidarity-day-25nov25\/\">address<\/a>, the President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ General Assembly stated that \u201c78 years long we have denied the Palestinian people their inalienable rights, in particular their right to self-determination.\u201d The Chair of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Palestinian Rights Committee called for action, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/ceirpp-chair-statement-solidarity-day-25nov25\/\">stressing<\/a> that \u201cthe time to act decidedly is now. We must collectively and decisively end this humanitarian, political, legal, and moral catastrophe that remains a stain on the international community.\u201d \u201cThe Palestinian people do not need a peace plan, what we need is a justice plan\u201d, Mosab Abu Toha, poet, founder of the Edward Said Library and winner of the Pulitzer Prize, <a Today we mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People<\/a> (29 November)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc216706919\"><\/a><strong>III. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ General Assembly Committees Deliberate on the Question of Palestine<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/un-special-committee-press-release-17nov25\/\">warned<\/a> on 17 November, that \u201cIsrael\u2019s genocidal practices in Gaza have inflicted unimaginable pain and suffering.\u201d Presenting its latest\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/special-committee-israeli-practices-report-05sep25\/\"><em>report<\/em><\/a>\u00a0to the General Assembly, the Committee said that Israel continues to expand its presence and control of territory in Palestine, Syria and Southern Lebanon. \u201cIsrael\u2019s constant claims to a borderless \u201cLand of Israel\u201d are incompatible with a just and lasting peace and will bring nothing but more suffering and dispossession to the Middle East region if not reined in by the international community,\u201d the Committee said.<\/p>\n<p>The Fourth Committee of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ General Assembly adopted a resolution on 19 November on assistance to Palestinian refugees and the renewal of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµRWA) mandate, with 149 countries voting in favour, 10 against, and 13 abstaining.\u00a0\u00a0By the terms of the draft resolution on \u201cAssistance to Palestine refugees\u201d (document\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/draft-resolution-assistance-to-palestine-refugees-11nov25\/\">A\/C.4\/80\/L.17<\/a>), the Assembly commended Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµRWA for its provision of vital assistance to the Palestine refugees and its role as a stabilizing factor in the region and decided to extend its mandate until 30\u00a0June\u00a02029. During the visit, the delegation held bilateral meetings with Brazilian counterparts to strengthen cooperation and advance efforts toward a just and lasting solution to the Question of Palestine.<\/p>\n<p>On 12 November, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/engagement-with-latin-american-civil-society-palestinian-diaspora\/\">second consultations in 2025<\/a>\u00a0between the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People and civil society organizations was held at ECLAC\u2019s headquarters in Santiago, Chile. Gaza &amp; OPT Humanitarian Situation Updates<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>On 7 November, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Human Rights office in the Occupied Palestinian Territory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/ohchr-press-release-7nov25\/\">called<\/a> on Israel to immediately halt the mass demolition orders issued on 28 October 2025 targeting 11 homes and vital community infrastructure in the Bedouin community of Umm Al Khair, South Hebron Hills in the occupied West Bank.
