OCHA reports that on Wednesday, hundreds of families were forcibly displaced from areas in eastern Deir al Balah to other parts of\u00a0Gaza<\/a>.<\/p>\n Palestinian militia\u00a0forces\u00a0reportedly\u00a0went\u00a0to\u00a0people\u2019s shelters\u00a0and ordered them\u00a0out.\u00a0Newly displaced\u00a0families\u00a0say they\u00a0also\u00a0received\u00a0phone calls\u00a0from people\u00a0who identified themselves as Israeli\u00a0forces, instructing\u00a0them\u00a0to leave\u00a0within\u00a0a short\u00a0span of time.<\/p>\n Humanitarian\u00a0partners\u00a0supported\u00a0families\u00a0in\u00a0identifying\u00a0spaces\u00a0to stay\u00a0in\u00a0and obtaining\u00a0basic services.<\/p>\n OCHA says that most of Gaza\u2019s\u00a02.1 million people\u00a0are already\u00a0displaced. Many\u00a0are\u00a0staying in overcrowded and underserviced sites\u00a0exposed to serious health and environmental risks.<\/p>\n Yesterday,\u00a0the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ\u00a0brought\u00a0pesticides into Gaza\u00a0to help address\u00a0the growing\u00a0risks\u00a0related to\u00a0insects\u00a0and other hazards.\u00a0Previously, teams in Gaza\u00a0have relied\u00a0largely on\u00a0small quantities of locally\u00a0procured\u00a0agents.\u00a0A pest control campaign\u00a0is\u00a0now\u00a0set\u00a0to start\u00a0next week, prioritising\u00a0areas where waste has accumulated within or near\u00a0residential areas,\u00a0as well as\u00a0around\u00a0food storage facilities and public markets.<\/p>\n Humanitarian partners say\u00a0that to provide a more complete response to\u00a0risks\u00a0linked to\u00a0rodents and pests, the\u00a0Israeli\u00a0authorities\u00a0must let\u00a0in\u00a0critical rubble removal and explosive ordnance clearance\u00a0equipment;\u00a0and\u00a0facilitate\u00a0access to Gaza\u2019s two sanitary landfills\u00a0near the Strip\u2019s perimeter.<\/p>\n Access remains restrictive.
