OCHA reports limited improvements in the flow of critical supplies into\u00a0Gaza, even as needs remain immense and people continue to depend heavily on aid.<\/p>\n
Data collected through the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ 2720 Mechanism indicate a 33 per cent increase in the volume of supplies that the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and its partners were able to bring into Gaza in July, compared with June. That amounts to more than 55,000 pallets of aid \u2013 roughly 35,000 metric tons, or 2,600 truckloads \u2013 closer to the levels recorded before the regional escalation began at the end of February.<\/p>\n
About 60 per cent of these supplies were food, followed by smaller volumes of shelter, water, sanitation, hygiene and health items.<\/p>\n
Additional supplies were brought in by the private sector.<\/p>\n
Still, humanitarian partners warn that restrictions remain on the types of supplies allowed into Gaza. Specifically, they say that more approvals are needed to bring engine oil and spare parts into the Strip, because all humanitarian operations depend on vehicles and backup generators that need to be maintained.<\/p>\n
Repeated denials of requests to bring in engine oil \u2013 combined with insufficient quantities of quality lubricant oil coming in through the private sector \u2013 mean that critical operations at hospitals, pumping stations and bakeries could be reduced or forced to stop.<\/p>\n
Another restriction is on durable shelter materials. Most of Gaza\u2019s 2.1 million people remain displaced in poor conditions \u2013 and so far, humanitarian partners have mostly been allowed to bring in tents that do not last long.<\/p>\n
A new\u00a0assessment<\/a>\u00a0by the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Satellite Centre estimates that the number of destroyed structures across Gaza has increased by 9 per cent since the declaration of a ceasefire in October 2025.<\/p>\n Overall, about 82 per cent of the structures in Gaza are damaged. This amounts to more than 200,000 structures that are damaged to some degree \u2013 and two thirds of them are assessed to have been destroyed.<\/p>\n West Bank: humanitarians mobilize support for Qalandia Camp families after Israeli operation<\/strong><\/p>\n Partners from across the humanitarian community visited Qalandia Camp in Jerusalem to jointly assess people\u2019s needs after Israeli forces concluded a two-day operation there.<\/p>\n Humanitarian teams identified widespread damage to houses and businesses. Dozens of families reported damage to doors, windows and furniture, after Israeli forces spent time inside their homes. Many reported significant financial losses.<\/p>\n Forces had reportedly taken over some of the homes, pushed families out, and used those properties as interrogation centres.<\/p>\n Partners with the Palestine Red Crescent Society say that more than 50 people were injured during the two-day operation.<\/p>\n In nearby Kafr Aqab, humanitarian partners assess that six businesses were demolished.<\/p>\n The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and its partners are mobilizing support for those affected.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" 7 August 2026 OCHA reports limited improvements in the flow of critical supplies into\u00a0Gaza, even as needs remain immense and people continue to depend heavily on aid.
