On 29 November 2017, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ General Assembly will observe the annual International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, pursuant to General Assembly resolution 32\/40 B of 2 December 1977. The occasion marks the adoption by the General Assembly of resolution 181 (II) on 29 November 1947 partitioning the mandate of Palestine into two States.<\/p>\n
Events to mark Solidarity day will be held at United Nations Headquarters in New York as well as at United Nations offices in Geneva, Vienna, and Nairobi.\u00a0During the\u00a0events,\u00a0representatives of Member States, inter-governmental organizations and civil society are expected to speak on the question of Palestine. The observance will also include a special exhibit celebrating the lives and careers of Palestinians who have contributed to humanity in different walks of life, in the face of extraordinary challenges. The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ General Assembly\u00a0will also hold\u00a0its annual debate on the question of Palestine\u00a0on this day.<\/p>\n
