Your Excellency Ambassador Oh, President of the Economic and Social Council,Excellencies,Distinguished delegates,Ladies and gentlemen,
I speak at the closing of this historic Forum, not to provide a summary.
Rather, I take the floor to offer words of gratitude.
I want to thank the 22 volunteering countries for being among the first to undertake national reviews.
Your pioneering role is recognised by all.
The lessons you have offered, the action you have showcased, and the gaps you have identified - they are what this Forum is about ¨C advancing the SDGs through sharing of experience and mutual learning.
Our appreciation also goes to the entire membership of the Forum ¨C it is only through your active engagement and commitments that the HLPF can fulfil its mandate of providing political leadership, guidance and recommendations for follow-up and review.
I would also like to extend my warm congratulations to all delegations for your tireless efforts for making this important outcome possible.
In this regard, I also extend my sincere appreciation to Major Groups and other stakeholders.
You have come to the HLPF, well prepared and ready to contribute.
You help energize the HLPF.
You help keep strong the momentum of implementation.
Mr. President,
I want to take this opportunity also to thank my Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ colleagues.
Many of you helped enrich the discussions by sharing your perspectives and providing written contributions; others, in particular, the Regional Commissions, organised forums leading up to the HLPF.
Your valuable inputs demonstrate that the HLPF is a forum for the entire Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ system. Indeed, only being so can the HLPF promote system-wide coherence, as mandated in the 2030 Agenda.
We hope the HLPF can strengthen the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ system so that it is ¡°fit to deliver¡±.
Finally, I want to reiterate my deep appreciation to the President of ECOSOC and the Bureau of the ECOSOC, as well as your teams, for your leadership, guidance, hard work and patience.
To expedite the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, we must aim high and reach for the lofty vision of a sustainable and equitable future, ensuring that no one is left behind.
Thank you all.
