The Secretary-General¡¯s Advisory Board, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵDEF's main governing mechanism, is composed of those members who have made the largest seven cumulative financial contributions to the Fund over the previous three years; six Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Member States reflecting geographical diversity; two international civil society organizations; and three individuals serving in a personal capacity. The Advisory Board provides policy guidance to the Secretary-General on the development of programme frameworks and funding guidelines, and recommends funding proposals for his approval. The Programme Consultative Group serves as Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ inter-agency mechanism that provides expert advice. It comprises the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Department of Political Affairs, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Department of Peacekeeping Operations, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Peacebuilding Support Office, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Development Program, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Office on Drugs and Crime and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Women.
