We are pleased to invite you to join us in person and participate in the High-level Policy Dialogue segment of the 2023 edition of the Africa Dialogue Series (ADS 2023), to take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 22 May at the ECOSOC Chamber (10am to 12:30 pm) and ?at the Trusteeship Council Chamber (10am to 12:30 pm).??
Senior officials, including the United Nations Secretary-General and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, are expected to join the activities, which will feature interactive discussions open to participants. A detailed programme is available online.
Building on the African Union¡¯s theme of the year, which is focused on accelerating the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the ADS 2023 explores how the AfCFTA could boost Africa¡¯s development through industrialization. Titled ¡°Market and Scale: Unlocking Industrialization through Intra-African Trade,¡± it is an interactive platform for stakeholders to come together and look into Africa¡¯s challenges and opportunities in this area towards the formulation of implementable policy recommendations for the continent¡¯s development.
The ADS 2023 is organized by the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) and the African Union Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations (AUPOM) in partnership with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, the Common Fund for Commodities (CFC), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵCTAD), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA)?and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵIDO).

S'appuyant sur le th¨¨me de l'ann¨¦e de l'Union africaine, qui est ax¨¦ sur l'acc¨¦l¨¦ration de la mise en ?uvre de la Zone de libre-¨¦change continentale africaine (ZLECAf), le CCA 2023 explore comment la ZLECAf pourrait stimuler le d¨¦veloppement de l'Afrique gr?ce ¨¤ l'industrialisation. Intitul¨¦e ??March¨¦ et envergure?: D¨¦velopper l¡¯industrialisation gr?ce au commerce intra-africain??, il s'agit d'une plate-forme interactive permettant aux parties prenantes de se r¨¦unir et d'examiner les d¨¦fis et les opportunit¨¦s qui se pr¨¦sentent en Afrique dans ce domaine en vue de la formulation de recommandations politiques applicables pour le d¨¦veloppement du continent.
Le CCA 2023 est organis¨¦ par le Bureau de la Conseill¨¨re sp¨¦ciale pour l'Afrique et la?Mission permanente d'observation?de l'Union africaine?aupr¨¨s des Nations Unies en partenariat avec le Secr¨¦tariat de la Zone de libre-¨¦change continentale africaine, le ??Common Fund for Commodities ?, la Conf¨¦rence des Nations Unies sur le commerce et le d¨¦veloppement (CNUCED), la Commission ¨¦conomique des Nations Unies pour l'Afrique (CEA) et l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour le d¨¦veloppement industriel (ONUDI).
