On 21 November, the United Nations Postal Administration (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵPA) highlights six extraordinary sites in Mexico as part of its World Heritage stamp series.
The programme has celebrated the world¡¯s most treasured landmarks since 1997.
Each of these six sites on the stamps reveals a unique facet of Mexico¡¯s heritage:

78? stamp: Historic Centre of Mexico City and Xochimilco?- where Aztec roots and colonial architecture intertwine

$1.70 stamp: Pre-Hispanic City and National Park of Palenque?- a magnificent Maya legacy set amid the jungles of Chiapas ?

CHF 1,20 stamp: Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve?- a natural wonder where millions of butterflies migrate each winter.

CHF 1,90 stamp: Pre-Hispanic City of El Taj¨ªn -?famed for its Pyramid of the Niches and deep spiritual symbolism

€ 1,00 stamp: Hospicio Caba?as in Guadalajara -?a neo-classical masterpiece and home to Jos¨¦ Clemente Orozco¡¯s powerful murals

€ 1,20 stamp: Historic Town of Guanajuato?- colourful hillsides and rich mining history that capture the essence of colonial Mexico.
Through the World Heritage Convention, adopted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵESCO) in 1972, nations around the world made a commitment to identify, protect, and preserve cultural and natural treasures of outstanding universal value.
As we admire these stamps and the remarkable sites they represent, let us remember that preserving heritage is not only about monuments or landscapes. It is about keeping alive the stories, values, and lessons that define us as a global community.
