Preparing the world for important population changes Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ DESA

In 2015, the world will adopt a new set of goals for the next fifteen years of sustainable development. In designing and implementing the post-2015 agenda, with sustainable development at its core, it is important to fully understand and account for the demographic changes that are likely to unfold in the future.

Through a deeper understanding of how the world is changing, combined with better planning, stronger partnerships, and greater political will, we can create a better tomorrow for both people and planet," said Mr. John Wilmoth, Director of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ DESA¡¯s Population Division, as his division prepares for the upcoming 48th session of the Commission on Population and Development, which will take place at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Headquarters in New York on 13-17 April.
