Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Decade of Sustainable Energy for All to 2030:
Updated Global Plan of Action
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly extended until 2030 the promotion of the United Nations Decade of Sustainable Energy for All (79/211) and furthermore called for the implementation of the updated Global Plan of Action for the Decade to accelerate the achievement of SDG 7 (80/142). As described in the SG report (A/80/374), this Plan is aligned with the Global Road Map for Accelerated SDG7 Action and builds on the outcomes of the Global Stocktaking on SDG7, including the call to action issued by the President of the General Assembly. Informed by these outcomes, which were supported by extensive consultation processes, the updated Global Plan of Action for the Extension of the Decade until 2030 contains a set of measures to be taken by Member States and other stakeholders, encompassing the United Nations system, representatives of civil society, including women¡¯s and young people¡¯s organizations, the private sector and academia, in order to further accelerate the implementation of the energy-related goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda.
