Across the globe, Model Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ simulations are popular ways for students to learn more about the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. However, they tend to focus solely on the intergovernmental process. That is why ¡°The Real United Nations: An Interactive Briefing Series for Model Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵs¡± was launched. The idea is for diverse panels of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ staff and diplomats to speak to Model Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ clubs, share their stories with participants and explain what they actually do to achieve Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ mandates.
During these exchanges, students can ask real Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ staff and diplomats, working in such fields as political affairs, humanitarian aid, sustainable development and communications, about their experience working at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Headquarters and field offices. The conversations are meant to be frank ¨C so that students can gain a real understanding of what actually goes on in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ¡¯s halls and missions.
