Protective Services

United Nations Protective Services may be required as a prevention or mitigation measure to support and enable the activities of Senior United Nations Officials (SÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵO) in the course of their duties, who may be subject to increased threat and associated risk due to their role or implementation of specific mandates and programmes.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵDSS is responsible for the setting of standards, operational coordination and operational support of United Nations Protective Services throughout the United Nations Security Management System (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵSMS) with Protective Services personnel operating in medium to high-risk, conflict or post-conflict environment across the , and in a lower security risk environment in Security and Safety Services (SSS) missions and locations.
