Inaugural Meeting of Landlocked Developing Countries on the Global Climate Agenda
Wednesday, 19 November 2025 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm
The 606 million people of the 32 Landlocked Developing Countries are among the most climate- vulnerable nations, facing a unique combination of geographic, economic, and institutional challenges that amplify their exposure to climate change. The establishment of the LLDC Group under the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵFCCC in 2025 and the adoption of the Programme of Action for LLDCs (2024¨C 2034) mark a turning point. For the first time, LLDCs have a structured framework to address climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, resilient infrastructure, and climate finance. This meeting at COP30 seeks to build on that momentum, elevate LLDCs¡¯ visibility, and foster partnerships to support their climate resilience and sustainable development.
