Meeting with Foreign Minister of Turkey, H.E. Mr Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu

The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Peter Thomson, today met with the Foreign Minister of Turkey, H.E. Mr Mevlüt ÇavuÅŸoÄŸlu. Foreign Minister ÇavuÅŸoÄŸlu briefed on the aftermath of the failed military coup attempt on 15 July 2016 in Turkey. The  President of the General Assembly condemned the coup and expressed his solidarity with the democratically-elected government and the people of Turkey. President Thomson and Minister ÇavuÅŸoÄŸlu also exchanged views on tomorrow’s Summit on Refugees and Migrants, as well as on regional developments.
