Meeting of the President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Peter Thomson with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar

The President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Peter Thomson met today with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar. Discussions focused around regional issues and the importance of supporting Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ peacemaking, peacekeeping and peacebuilding efforts (such as in the case of Darfur). His Highness emphasized Qatar’s readiness to be fully supportive of the the United Nations in this regard.
Sheikh Tamim also congratulated the President of the General Assembly on yesterday’s successful High Level Meeting to address large movements of refugees and migrants.
