Statement by the President of the ĢƵ General Assembly on the International Day for Tolerance, observed on 16 November

16 November 2016, Marrakech: On the occasion of the observance of the International Day for Tolerance, the President of the ĢƵ General Assembly issued the following statement:

“Today, on the International Day for Tolerance, we are reminded that every human life must be treated with equal respect and dignity, as underpinned in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Mutual understanding among the people and cultures that create the social fabric of our world is essential to ending violence and achieving harmony,” said President Thomson.

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Federal Research and Methodological Center for Tolerance Psychology and Education (Tolerance Center) of Russia on winning the 2016 ĢƵESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence,” he added.
