The President of the 72nd?session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Laj?ák, met today with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the?Russian Federation, H.E. Mr.?Sergey V. Lavrov.?They discussed the importance of the?United Nations and the?relevance of reforms.
They agreed that the United Nations continues to serve as an important platform where global affairs can and should be discussed in a constructive manner. Reform?agenda proposals must therefore focus on the effectiveness of the Organization. Consensus remains an irreplaceable decision-making tool for Member States.
They also discussed current global dynamics and non-proliferation efforts, including with respect to the situation on the Korean Peninsula and the Iran nuclear deal framework.
