The President of the 72nd?session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Laj?ák, met today with H.E. Mr. Martin Chungong, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
They discussed the forthcoming Parliamentary Hearing at the United Nations in February 2018, which will focus on the issue of migration. The President of the General Assembly underlined the key role of parliamentarians in the preparation of the global compact on safe, orderly and regular migration.
He thanked the Secretary General of IPU for his support in facilitating the active participation of lawmakers in the process.
