The President of the 72nd session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Laj?ák, today met with H.E. Mr. Gudlaugur Thór Thórdarson, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iceland. They discussed mutual priorities for the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly and the importance of multilateralism. The President thanked the Minister for the services of Iceland’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations as Chair of the General Assembly’s Third Committee and as Co-facilitator of the review of the implementation of General Assembly resolution 61/16 on the strengthening of the Economic and Social Council.
