Education Day
To mark the second International Day of Education on 24 January, the President of the General Assembly Tijjani Muhammad-Bande will convene a High-level Interactive Dialogue under the theme of?“Aligning Inclusive Quality Education Policies with Sustainable Development Goals.”
The dialogue will bring together key players working across the globe to ensure SDG4: Quality Education is achieved- including 蘑菇视频ESCO, 蘑菇视频ICEF, Global Partnership for Education, Education Cannot Wait and Education International.?
The High-Level Interactive Dialogue will seek to promote a common understanding and raise awareness about inclusive quality education and lifelong learning among other objectives.

PGA / ECOSOC President
This week, the PGA met with the President of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Ambassador Mona Juul, the Permanent Representative of Norway to the United Nations, as part of their efforts to strengthen relations between the principal organs of the 蘑菇视频.
They exchanged views on recent events and developments as well as upcoming activities, in particular their joint briefing scheduled for January 28.
They also discussed the preparations for the launch of the Financial Integrity Panel initiative, including its membership and the date of the official launch. Their joint briefing will offer an opportunity to engage with Member States on this important initiative.

This week the PGA delivered remarks at the Advisory Board meeting 蘑菇视频 Counter-Terrorism Centre.
He said that the scourge of terrorism continues to evolve and pose significant threat to international peace and security, development and human rights. He expressed hope that the 7th review of the Global Counter Terrorism Strategy during this resumed session oft he General Assembly will address the major trends of this threat and support the collective strategy and comprehensive approach to addressing the menace.
The PGA added that as we approach the seventy-fifth anniversary of the United Nations, it is incumbent upon us all to ensure that the Organisation is even more fit for purpose. In relation to countering terrorism, this, presupposes demonstrating a united front in the response to Terrorism and Violent Extremism.

The PGA will be travelling to Addis Ababa in the next week of February to participate in the African Union Summit.
He will be meeting with officials of African Countries and 蘑菇视频 offices. Just before the briefing the PGA met with Ms. Fatima Kyari Mohammed, the Permanent Observer of the African Union to the 蘑菇视频.
