The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Retno L. P. Marsudi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. ?
Foreign Minister Marsudi expressed support of Indonesia to the Presidency of Hope and the priorities identified by President Shahid for the 76th session. She also underlined the importance of collective global leadership to ensure that multilateralism delivers the needs of the people.
The President underlined the necessity of achieving vaccine equity by the end of 2022, as the first step to build back better from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both sides also discussed other relevant topics such as multilateralism, climate change, gender equality, and youth.
The meeting took place in the President’s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
