The President of the 76th?session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Mr. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.?
Foreign Minister Szijjártó extended the support of Hungary to the Office of the President of the General Assembly, including for specific priorities identified by President Shahid for the 76th?session. Both agreed on the necessity to ensure the just and equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines to save human lives.
The President?underlined his efforts to address the challenges of COVID-19 in the General Assembly, including by convening a high-level meeting next year with the objective of achieving vaccine equity by the end of 2022.
The meeting took place in the President’s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.?
