The President of the 76th? session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Mr. Borut Pahor, President of the Slovenian Republic.?
President Pahor expressed Slovenian commitment to multilateralism and support to the priorities of President Shahid for the 76th? session, in particular on climate change.?
President Shahid thanked Slovenia for its contribution and active engagement in the work of the General Assembly. As a gender champion, the PGA shared ideas on the promotion of gender parity and full participation women in girls in decision making. He also briefed on the PGAs Youth Fellowship Programme which is aimed at creating the next generation multilateralists.?
Both sides also discussed the evolving situation in Afghanistan and reaffirmed the need for the support of the international community.?
The meeting took place in the President’s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.?
