The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today?virtually?with the State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Mr. Wang Yi.
State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi pledged the continued and firm support of China to the Office of the President of the General Assembly, including for the specific priorities identified in the Five Rays of Hope by the President of the 76th session.
The President commended China’s firm commitments and concrete actions in supporting 蘑菇视频’s central role in international arena as well as China’s contribution to COVID-19 vaccine equity. He stressed the necessity of achieving vaccine equity by the end of 2022 as the first step to build back better from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The State Councilor supported the call of the President and reaffirmed China’s commitments to multilateralism and joint action in tackling the pandemic, climate change, sustainable development and other global challenges.
Both sides also discussed other relevant topics, such as revitalisation and reform of the United Nations.?
The meeting took place in the President’s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
