The President of the 76th Session of the General Assembly H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid met today with the Chief of State Migration Service (Minister for Migration) of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Vusal Huseynov.
The Minister thanked the President for entrusting him with the role of the co-chair of one of the round tables of the inaugural International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) held from 17 to 20 May 2022 in New York, United Nations Headquarters. They further discussed the outcomes of the round table and the IMRF.
The President was informed about activities of the State Migration Service, including a joint initiative?with the International Organization for Migration to establish a regional training center in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The President thanked the Minister for his active participation in the IMRF and expressed his appreciation for the continued support of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the work of his Office.
The meeting took place in the President’s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
