The President of the 76th?session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, today met with H.E.?Dr. Md.?Enamur?Rahman, State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief of?Bangladesh.
President Shahid and Minister?Rahman discussed the importance of national and local action in prevention?of disaster relief.
State Minister Rahman briefed the President on the measures being taken by Bangladesh to enhance preparedness to handle hydro-meteorological events and the Countywide Cyclonic Preparedness program with 76,000 volunteers, 50% of whom are women.
The meeting took place?in?the?Bali?Nusa Dua?Convention Center.
