The President of the 76th?session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, today met with H.E.?Sandiaga?Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.
Minister Uno thanked President Shahid for?his participation in?the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, and for his support to rebuilding the tourism industry in a more sustainable matter, as?discussed in?the General Assembly high-level debate on sustainable tourism on 4?May?2022.
The President commended the Government of Indonesia for successfully holding the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction. He thanked?Minister Uno?for participating?in-person at the General Assembly high-level debate on sustainable tourism.?He?noted?that the tourism industry is on the forefront of both natural and man-made disaster and needs to build greater resilience.
The discussions also referred to Indonesia’s G20 presidency, COVID recovery and tourism.
The meeting took place in the?Bali?Nusa?Dua?Convention Center.
