The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with Mr. Jean Todt, United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, on the sidelines of the High-level Meeting on Improving Global Road Safety.
The President thanked?Mr. Jean Todt for his?inspiring statement?during the Opening Segment and his tireless efforts in promoting awareness of global road safety and financing capacity building in low- and middle- income countries.

Mr. Jean Todt assured his continued commitment to?address gaps and challenges in the area of road safety. He underscored his commitment to continue promoting multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder collaboration towards to goal of halving road traffic death and injuries by 2030.

The meeting took place at the President’s Office at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
