The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ officially came into existence on 24 October 1945, after World War II, when nations across the world ratified the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Charter. In commemoration of this historic pledge for world peace, United Nations Day is celebrated annually on October 24.
