On Wednesday, 5 August 2026, the Security Council held a briefing on the twenty-third report of the Secretary-General on the threat posed by ISIL (Da¡¯esh) to international peace and security and the range of United Nations efforts in support of Member States in countering the threat (). New York¨C On 30 June 2026, the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), the Hellenic Republic, the Republic of Malta, the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµOCT), and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) co-organized a side event on terrorist threats in the maritime domain.
