New York,?1 July 2026 – On the occasion of the 2026 United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), with the support of its Centre for Global Studies (CGS), organized a high-level side event entitled “Global Terrorism and AI – Technological Sovereignty and Regulatory Frameworks: The Role of Parliaments in Applying and Adapting Existing Frameworks for Effective Countering Actions”.
On Wednesday, 5 August 2026, the Security Council held a briefing on the twenty-third report of the Secretary-General on the threat posed by ISIL (Da’esh) to international peace and security and the range of United Nations efforts in support of Member States in countering the threat (). Ms. Carmen G. On 23 July 2026, published the on the June 2025 visit conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) on behalf of the Counter-Terrorism Committee. Pursuant to the relevant resolutions of the Security Council, CTED conducted its first comprehensive visit on behalf of the Committee to Hungary, from 16 to 18 June 2025, to monitor and promote its implementation of Security Council resolutions , , , , and and other relevant Council resolutions.
New York– On 1?July 2026, the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), Japan, the Republic of Korea, Portugal, the United Arab Emirates, the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (蘑菇视频OCT), and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) co-organized a side event on the threat of terrorist use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
New York– On 1 July 2026, the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), Canada, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (蘑菇视频ODC), and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (蘑菇视频OCT) jointly held a side event on aviation security.

New York, 2 July 2026 – On the margins of the United Nations High-Level 2026 Counter-Terrorism Week, a dedicated side event entitled “Addressing the proliferation of small arms and light weapons (SALW) in Latin America and the Caribbean as a key component of counter-terrorism” was held at the Permanent Mission of Jamaica to the United Nations.
