Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵITED NATIONS RELIEF AND WORKS AGENCY FOR PALESTINE REFUGEES IN TIlE NEAR EAST

Revenues derived from Palestine refugee properties

Report of the Secretary-General

Addendum

1. Further to the report submitted in pursuance of General Assembly resolution 37/120 H of 16 December 1982 (A/38/361), entitled “Revenues derived from Palestine refugee properties”, a reply dated 28 October 1983 was received from the Syrian Arab Republic. In that reply, the Secretary-General was informed that the General Administration for Palestinian Arab Refugees (GAPAR), the competent authority dealing with Palestinian refugee affairs in Syria, had stated that it did not keep records of Palestinian properties in Palestine and revenues derived therefrom and that GAPAR believed that such information on revenues should be provided by the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine and by the Secretary-General, in accordance with Assembly resolution 37/120 H.

2. It should be noted that neither the Secretary-General nor the United Nations Conciliation Commission for Palestine has the required information, and it was for that reason that the Secretary-General had sent notes verbales on 16 March and 26 July 1983 to the Government of Israel and to all other Member States and non-Member States requesting information in regard to the implementation of the provisions of paragraph 2 of resolution 37/120 H.
