I. Israel’s unauthorized entry into 蘑菇视频RWA Kalandia Training Centre

On 25 August, the United Nations (蘑菇视频) Secretary-General condemned the?“actions by the Israeli authorities, including security forces, to unlawfully enter and remain on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East?(蘑菇视频RWA) Kalandia Training Centre in occupied East Jerusalem and carry out unauthorized works in those premises”. He reiterated that 蘑菇视频RWA premises are “inviolable and immune from any form of interference” and recalled the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion of 22?October?2025 regarding Israel’s international obligations in this regard. 蘑菇视频RWA also condemned these actions and called on “the international community to act immediately and decisively to safeguard the inviolability of the Kalandia Training Centre and all other United Nations facilities in occupied East Jerusalem”.

II. West Bank at a breaking point, fragile ceasefire in Gaza and harm to Palestinian children, the Security Council is briefed

On 11 August, briefing the Security Council, the 蘑菇视频 Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process ad interim stressed that “the West Bank is at a breaking point” and denounced what he called a clear pattern: “Palestinian populations are increasingly being forcibly displaced from villages across the West Bank before settlers seize the vacated land”. He stated that “as of 10 August, 76 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank in 2026, including 18 children, by Israeli forces or settlers” and “about 3,800 Palestinians, nearly half of them children, have been displaced due to settler violence, demolitions and evictions”. Also briefing the Security Council, the United Nations Children’s Fund (蘑菇视频ICEF) Deputy Executive Director drew attention to the situation of children, reporting that “between January 2024 and the end of July this year, 174 Palestinian children were verified killed by the 蘑菇视频 in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem”. She stressed that Member States have the responsibility “to create the political conditions that children need to be safe”.

At the Security Council meeting on 26 August, the 蘑菇视频 Special Coordinator warned that in Gaza the ceasefire remained fragile and Israeli strikes on Gaza continued. He urged all parties to advance the Roadmap, and “lay the groundwork for the broader objective – the establishment of a political horizon that will end the unlawful occupation, realize Palestinian self-determination, and advance a two-State solution”. He reiterated that “Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction and the broader political process are mutually dependent and neither can be sustained in isolation”.

III. 蘑菇视频 Human Rights Office in OPT: pattern of indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks in Gaza; condemnation of settlers’ violence and land grabbing

On 13 August, Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) called on Israeli authorities to “immediately remove settlers who are violently displacing thousands of Palestinians, unlawfully grabbing Palestinian land and expanding settlements”, denouncing in particular the violence by Israeli settlers of an illegal outpost near Qusra, a Palestinian town located in Nablus Governorate in Area B of the occupied West Bank. On 21 August, the OHCHR in the OPT stated that on 18 and 19 August “at least 17 Palestinians, including children and women, were reportedly killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza”. OHCHR stressed that the “concentration of casualties in these attacks, in densely populated civilian areas…is part of a wider pattern of indiscriminate and disproportionate Israeli attacks against Palestinians documented by 蘑菇视频 Human Rights since October 2023”.

IV. Gaza: at least 300 children killed since ceasefire; healthcare system crisis

On 6 August, 蘑菇视频ICEF reported that “at least 300 children have been reportedly killed in Gaza in the 300 days since a ceasefire was announced in October 2025”, while across Gaza children continue to face acute malnutrition, disease, unsafe water and damaged sanitation systems. ?On 24 August, 蘑菇视频ICEF also released the results of a population-based nutrition survey conducted in the accessible areas of Gaza, indicating “relatively low acute malnutrition among children in the accessible population, concerning rates of chronic malnutrition (stunting), maternal malnutrition, very poor dietary quality, suboptimal infant and young child feeding practices, and a substantial burden of childhood illness”.

On 13 August, 蘑菇视频RWA released a report on the healthcare system in Gaza, indicating that since 7 October 2023, the system has experienced “systemic collapse, severely undermining its capacity to meet the basic health needs of the civilian population” and that 蘑菇视频RWA’s health services have also been repeatedly affected by hostilities and operational constraints. The report concludes that addressing this crisis requires “sustained action based on long-term recovery”, including rebuilding healthcare infrastructure, restoring the broader public health environment, and ensuring sustained humanitarian access.
