Virtual Concert in Celebration of World Refugee Day (20 June)

On the occasion of World Refugee Day on Tuesday, 20 June 2023, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Chamber Music Society of the United Nations Staff Recreation Council (Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµCMS), in collaboration with Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµHCR, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Refugee Agency, bring you this concert.  World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to honour refugees and all forcibly displaced people across the globe. It celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee to escape conflict, violence or persecution. World Refugee Day is an occasion to build empathy and understanding for their plight and to support refugees in rebuilding their lives.

Protection of Civilians Week 22 - 25 May 2023

The sixth edition of the Protection of Civilians (PoC) week will take place from 22 to 25 May 2023. It will include a series of side events related to issues raised at the annual Security Council Open Debate on PoC, which will be held on 23 May, 2023. The Secretary-General’s report on PoC is also presented on the same day. PoC Week will be coordinated by Switzerland (who is holding the Presidency of the Security Council this month), Belgium, CIVIC/International Rescue Committee and OCHA.
