18 June 2018 - A group of students of the (United States) recently conducted an initiative related to mental health and , including developing a mental health curriculum.
Guided by co-adviser Michele Vella, a counseling psychologist, the initiative was promoted district-wide across two high schools and two intermediate schools as well as through social media to achieve even broader impact.
The students also started the casual for a cause project to put community members experiencing crisis in touch with pertinent resources such as the?National Suicide Prevention Hotline, meant to assist those?struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts.?They also conducted a campaign to raise funds for the?American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
These are inspiring examples of how by operating locally to address the needs of their communities, ASPIRE groups can contribute to transforming our world for the better.
