On the second day of his two day visit to Brussels, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly President Mr. Mogens Lykketoft today met with Mr. Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament. Both presidents discussed the position of the UK versus Europe, the so-called Brexit. The PGA briefed Mr. Schulz on the SDGs, and aired his concern about the current refugee crisis, its humanitarian consequences and the role Europe has to play. Also the election process of the next SG was raised.
On a different note, Mr. Schulz stressed the importance of the presence of the EU as an entity within the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ.
