The President of the 72nd session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Laj?ák, met today with H.E. Mr. Miro Cerar, Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia. They discussed human rights; the benefits of preventive diplomacy; the global compact on safe, orderly and regular migration; and other multilateral issues.
The President of the General Assembly stressed the importance of maintaining momentum on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and thanked Slovenia for presenting a voluntary national review in that regard. He also explained the priorities of his presidency, focusing on conflict prevention, preventive diplomacy and mediation.
