The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met with U.N. Resident Coordinator in Guatemala, Mr. Jos¨¦ Miguel Barreto, and the Country Team on 14 July 2022. The meeting was joined by representatives of FAO, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵDP, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ WOMEN, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵICEF, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵHCR, IOM, IMF, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵAIDS, WFP, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵDSS, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵESCO, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵFPA, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵOPS, and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵV.
During the meeting President Shahid?underscored the important role the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Country Teams play in?translating decisions taken at the global level into action on the ground?and in bringing the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ?closer to the people.
They discussed the five priority areas outlined in the framework of cooperation between Guatemala and the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ country team. The relevant agency representatives later presented an overview of the main achievements and challenges within their respective spheres.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guatemala City.
