CT Week Side Event - National and Regional Counter-Terrorism Strategies: Insights and Practical Lessons Learned, Including through Strengthening Prevention and PCVE

Event Date(s)
:

As Member States continue to adapt to evolving and complex terrorism threats, effective national and regional counter-terrorism strategies remain critical tools for ensuring coordinated, comprehensive, and sustainable responses. Increasingly, attention is focused not only on their development, but on how to translate them into effective implementation, including through strengthened prevention and preventing and countering violent extremism (PCVE) approaches.

Co-organized by the Permanent Missions of Finland and Turkmenistan to the United Nations, the Council of Europe, OSCE, CTED, and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (蘑菇视频OCT), this side event will provide a platform for knowledge exchange on the development and implementation of such strategies. It will bring together Member States, United Nations entities, international and regional organizations, and civil society actors to share national and regional experiences, case studies, and thematic lessons learned.

This event is organized on the margins of the 2026 Counter-Terrorism week (CT Week). For more information visit: www.un.org/counterterrorism/en/2026-counter-terrorism-week
